When designing their ‘Oasis Series’ of homes, brothers Gary and Chris Metcalfe wanted to contribute to their clients living ‘the good life’ by designing houses with a focus on comfortable family living and easy entertaining.

This ethos appealed to Kevin and Jill, when making the decision to move to Queensland from the suburbs of Sydney. Their spectacular home, a variation of the Oasis Double, boasts practical and livable outdoor areas with a focus on entertaining.
As you walk through the double entry doors, your eye is immediately drawn into the formal lounge and beyond to the stunning water views captured through the large entertainer sliding door. With it’s built in entertainment centre and square set featuring opening into the meals, kitchen and family area, this stylish room provides the perfect atmosphere for formal entertaining. The large outside entertaining and BBQ area is accessibly through both the family room and the formal lounge. This alfresco area not only features a BBQ, but it also boasts an independent gas hotplate, Quantum Quartz bench tops, a cupboard, bar fridge and commercial rangehood.
The stylish kitchen overlooks the backyard and pool through the open plan family and meals area and features top of the range stainless steel appliances and rangehood, as well as a built in coffee machine. The appliance cupboard offers clever storage solutions and demonstrates the builder’s knowledge of the needs and wants of their clients. Polish timber stairs leads you up to the first floor which features four bedrooms and a sitting room. The master bedroom contains both a walk-in-robe and ensuite. The ensuite has double vanities and a corner spa that sits against the impressive square set feature opening and looks out into the master bedroom, the balcony and beyond. A sliding door opens onto a huge balcony, perfect for lazy afternoons relaxing and soaking up the water views or the sunset behind Mount Tamborine. Additional access to this large balcony is available through sliding doors in Bed 2 and the sitting room.
This home meets the individual needs and desires of its owners. Smart wiring to the house enables universal control of the entertainment and computer systems. To ensure the Queensland heat remains at bay, this house has been installed with whirlybirds, insulation to the roof, vented sheets to eaves and a fully ducted reverse cycle split system air conditioning. The grey tinted windows further ensure temperatures will remain comfortable in the house while the stylish sunburst window frames continue the timber themes throughout the home.
